Trevor batten - Chapter director
Trevor is from Springfield, MO. He attended Missouri State University and graduated with a degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management in 2021. In 2022, Trevor also graduated from the Kanakuk Institute. Trevor has a passion for having fun with kids for the purpose of pointing them to Jesus and has been doing this for five summers at Kanakuk K-Kountry. In his free time, Trevor loves to play basketball, golf, piano, and hunt anything in the great outdoors!
Marissa batten - Women's director
Marissa grew up in Claremore, OK. After high school, Marissa graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Promotion from Oklahoma State University - Tulsa in 2021. Marissa then attended the Kanakuk Institute in 2022. After working part-time with Tulsa KLIFE, and working at Kanakuk K-Kountry for five summers, Marissa has developed a love for walking alongside students as they pursue Christ. In her free time, Marissa loves to exercise, cook, and explore the outdoors!
Abigail Gebhardt - Part-Time Women's director
Abby grew up in Salisbury, MO and is currently attending the University of Missouri to earn her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Science. Abby is set to go to the Kanakuk Institute in the fall of 2024. Abby grew up attending K-Kauai and K7 and has worked for Kanakuk KampOut for the past three years. During her time spent in the Kanakuk world, Abby fell in love with the idea of doing life with students. She is passionate about encouraging students to learn and grow in their faith and she does the same in her faith. Abby loves exploring coffee shops, having game nights, and using photography to capture memories.
Meet the Board
The KLIFE Board is comprised of couples within the community looking to partner with KLIFE in its active pursuit of Christ and the positive mentorship of students in Columbia. These couples serve to assist the ministry by faithfully praying, supporting, and guiding staff in the oversight of the organization.
